Southside Community Center received a 2016-17 Women Building Community Grant for a program called “Formation”. Increasing the participants’ sense of self-worth, leadership, and communication skills was the primary aim. Approximately 50 girls and women were involved: ICSD 5th-12th graders and their mentors from Les Femme de Substance of Cornell University.

Why was it named “Formation”? It’s the title of a song by Beyonce that means a lot to the Southside girls!
