Groton Middle and High School girls enjoyed their own “Girls Night In” program last year funded by a Women Building Community Grant.
The event theme was “This Girl Can” with activities planned to empower female students to make smarter and healthier decisions. Teachers and counselors focused on building self-respect, self-confidence and leadership skills through a variety of dynamic workshops, student-led discussions and team-building activities. Post-event surveys showed the girls had a positive experience.
